Online grant software that will make it easier to apply for and process grants at the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation is being funded by an $18,000 grant from the Foundation.
The grant will cover the purchase of Foundant online grant software, which will enhance the Bird City foundation’s grant-making ability in 10 counties across northwest Kansas.
The Foundation currently offers an online process that was created utilizing email. An increase in grant funds and applications has made the home-grown system more cumbersome.
An additional benefit of the software is that it is the same software used by other large foundations in northwest Kansas. As such, it will make the process of applying for grants from the different foundations a familiar process.
An exact date for the new software to be available for applicants hasn’t been determined, but it likely will be this summer. Until then, applications will continue to be accepted through the current online program.
