The Dane G. Hansen Foundation is pleased to welcome Brien Stockman as the newest member of the Board of Trustees, effective immediately.
Stockman is a practicing attorney in Logan, KS where he lives with his wife, Lynette. Together, they have four children, Cole Archer, Lane Archer, Erin Archer, and Riley Stockman.
Stockman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Education from the University of Oklahoma where he graduated at the top of his class in the Naval ROTC program. He earned both his commercial pilot license and his certified flight instructor certificate. He served in the United States Marine Corps as both an artillery officer and an intelligence officer.
In 1990, he earned his law degree at Wake Forest University. He practiced law in North Carolina from 1990 to 2003, where he litigated cases in state and federal court. His practice included insurance defense (automobile and aviation accident cases, insurance fraud and coverage issues) as well as commercial litigation, most notably in the aviation arena. He also served as Vice President and General Counsel for Spitfire Aviation, Inc. from 2000 to 2012.
In 2003, Stockman moved to Logan, Kansas where he established a solo practice. He also serves as a mediator in civil and domestic cases. Stockman is active in community affairs, including serving on the board of the First Christian Church, Lion’s Club, the Chamber of Commerce and the Airport Advisory Board for Phillipsburg. He still holds a pilot’s license and enjoys flying, hunting and reading.
Stockman’s appointment follows the death of former Trustee, Doyle Rahjes, Agra, who served the Foundation for 30 years.
