Residents of Logan Manor Community Health Services will benefit from a $73,000 grant from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation. The grant will be used to assist in the replacement of the Manor’s aging generator.
Logan Manor is a 36-bed skilled nursing facility and many of those it serves require oxygen and other health services that are reliant on electricity. When storms roll across Kansas and the manor experiences a loss of power, the facility’s generator is a critical part of providing seamless care for the residents.
The current generator is more than 17 years old and requires manual activation. Even when activated, the generator does not supply enough power for the entire facility. In recent years, the generator has required considerable maintenance.
The new generator will provide a significant upgrade to the safety of the residents and improve efficiency for the staff in the event of an emergency.
