A grant to update the facilities at a community child care center benefits children from all walks of life. The need for quality and affordable childcare is significant. This renovation provided the opportunity to improve classrooms to accommodate many children and their varying needs. 62% of the preschoolers in the program receive financial assistance and multiple children are living in foster homes. In addition, multiple children that attend our Early Education Center are on the Autism spectrum. We have noticed and heard from parents that the new design of colors and flooring as well as layout of the rooms has improved their child’s learning and behavior in the classrooms. We are very fortunate to great staff that make the classrooms “homier” so the children feel more comfortable. Our programs provide enrichment activities such as free swim lessons and free gymnastics lessons to all the children enrolled in our program. The Hansen Foundation grant helped us secure a large challenge grant.
