A Grant providing assistance for low-income families to participate in supervised visitation with children:
In numerous situations, we work with clients that have little to no money to pay for services. For these families, this grant has made these services possible, even in cases where the parent was only able to pay $5 per hour of supervised visit because they fell so low on the sliding fee scale or were without work for a time. These families are extremely appreciative for the ‘grace’ shown to allow them to see each other.
In one case that regularly met at a church site, the parent was unable to afford food to eat during the visit. An anonymous donor brought a meal to the staff prior to the visit just for this family to share. The mother and child were so grateful they cried and wrote a beautiful note on a paper towel for the staff to give back to the donor.
