A grant for a new HVAC system at a community library
The utility bills have been lower. But more importantly, the coolness and the warmth of the building has been good for library patrons. The library was a cooling station for children in the community when they were playing outdoors. Over the winter, some of the patrons commented that they enjoy coming in as the library is warmer than home.
The Friday morning coffee and cookies group that assembles at the library consists of individuals from age 6 months to about 85 years old. They came in last summer saying how cool the library felt and this winter they have arrived rejoicing in the warmth. The group comes together to tell stories of the past and relate local news to their friends and neighbors. The comfort of the library is not taken for granted. The patrons have endured problems in the past that drove many away from the services provided. Many of the folks that come in still comment on how fortunate we are to have such a nice library and a wonderful community gathering place.
