A new training facility in Hays offers firefighters from the region a dedicated place to train and improve firefighting skills.
Larger training events are planned at the Hays Regional Fire/Rescue Training Facility, where firefighters can practice such skills as ladder rescues from a third floor window and basement fire attacks. Hays and Ellis County firefighters will use the grant-funded facility regularly, and it will be available for use by other departments across the state.
