CASA helps protect abused children

PHILLIPSBURG – Grant funds helped cover operating expenses and enabled recruitment of trained community volunteers to act as Court-Appointed Special Advocates who speak on behalf of child victims of abuse or neglect until they have permanent home placement.

Children in the 17th Judicial District who had a CASA were protected from further abuse or neglect, and every child stayed with the same advocate from the moment he or she entered the foster care system until being adopted or returned to home of origin.
