PLAINVILLE – A vacant limestone building downtown has been transformed into a co-working space and is already being put to good use.
The Hub is being run by a volunteer committee of Downtown Plainville Inc. It features six semi-private workstations and a separate conference room. In the early 1900s, the building was a men’s clothing store called The Hub.
The project received funding from the Hansen Foundation, as well as several other granting organizations.
By April, two remote workers had committed to a year of using space at The Hub, and several others had used it occasionally. Two community organizations were using the facility for monthly meetings.
