QUINTER — Even the infants at Tender Hearts Child Care Center are enjoying new Montessori manipulatives, puzzles and toys that the center acquired with grant funds.
The toys are engaging and attractive to the infants. Even the youngest one, who was not able to put pieces back into the puzzle, was still in awe of taking the pieces out, manipulating them in her hands and then reaching for the next one.
The infant teacher found that the babies were far more engaged for longer periods of time when they were exploring the Montessori supplies.
She enjoyed watching the older infants go from just removing the pegs to working towards getting them back into the slots. The teacher also saw the oldest infant show the younger ones how to put the pegs back.
