BELOIT – An indoor community recreation facility developed in a building owned by the Beloit school district is getting more use than school officials even envisioned.
The facility, which features turf flooring, two retractable batting cages and a gas-fired forced air furnace, is being utilized almost daily. Grant funds helped cover the cost of turf and netting.
The football team had practice in the facility in the fall, and indoor track has been taking place and softball has been practicing regularly. Youth baseball has also used the facility multiple times.
