CEDAR BLUFF STATE PARK – The theme for the 2022 OK Kids Day at Cedar Bluff State Park was “Unplug,” encouraging kids to disconnect from their technology for a day of new outdoor adventures.
Of the 267 attendees at the free-of-charge, June event, 157 were youth participants. Grant funds provided some of the cost of food, purchased fishing poles, which youth could take home, and stocked the pond with 75 pounds of catfish.
Participants caught 89 fish. In addition to fishing, they also could also experience trap shooting, bb gun shooting, archery shooting, bucket pong, a bean bag toss game, minnow catching, shelter building, Nex-Tech train rides, interactions with local first responders and their vehicles, and climbing into U.S. Army vehicles.
