Learning in a day through 4-H

Nearly 1,000 youths learned about everything from bees to babysitting during 4-H day camps held throughout northwest Kansas. Grant funds have been supporting these events since 1967.

Nineteen of 26 eligible counties held a total of 37 summer or winter day camps plus six multi-county day camps that were individually planned and organized with a variety of programming.

At the Sunflower District-Goodland fishing clinic the fish were biting, and kids ran to the fish station to have their catch measured to see who could tell the best fishing story.

An inter-generational craft activity at the Post Rock District-Osborne day camp resulted in campers assisting Parkview residents in a way that was fun for people of all ages.

At many other camps, participants learned about a variety of topics, including leadership skills.
