Map of projects, Kendra the Elf all part of foundation’s success

ELLSWORTH – A map over the bar highlighting all the projects supported by the Smoky Hills Charitable Foundation in Ellsworth County has been an impactful way to remind potential donors how their money would be used.

The map is displayed during the foundation’s annual Dueling Piano concert and live auction, which is emceed by a local celebrity. This year, the foundation raised almost $110,000! A popular item at this year’s live auction was provided by “Kendra the Elf,” a foundation board member who offered to do the shopping and wrapping of up to 50 gifts (using the buyer’s funds.) That auction item went for $1,000.

The first $50,000 raised will be matched at 200 percent by a Dane G. Hansen Foundation grant.
