New sound equipment amplifies joy of theater festival

HOXIE – New sound and lighting equipment will ensure that the stellar performances of kids involved in the Main Street Summer Theater Festival of 2022 can be heard, seen and enjoyed by all.

Wireless mics and other equipment arrived midway through the 2021 season. It was just in time for a performance of The Aristocats Kids in Colby’s Fike Park, which occurred despite a mini-storm that blew through minutes before opening.
A Hansen Foundation grant helped cover the cost of the new sound system, as well as lighting equipment that will be used for the first time in 2022. Festival manager Karl Pratt, show directors Bonnie Cameron and Tabor Rucker and choreographers Nicole Weigel and Skylynne Fulwider guided young performers in Goodland, Colby, Quinter, Hoxie and Atwood through a successful 2021 season and look forward to 2022.
