PLAINVILLE – Much needed preschool services were expanded in Plainville with the addition of a modular home on school grounds to house four preschool class sessions, two in the morning and two in the afternoon.
The Rooks County economic development director said the Plainville school district’s early childhood education project has already had a “tremendous impact” on the community. The project also includes another modular home on school grounds that houses child care for children as young as infants.
The families receiving services are pleased with the group home setting and the preschool services provided. At present, the preschool serves 45 children from 40 families. The staff includes five full-time personnel and the Child Care Services Director, who are employed by the district. In addition, a substitute provider is available when needed.
The modular homes were provided by the Hansen Foundation.
