LOGAN – Local teenagers are having their first jobs; children are learning to swim, and families have a place to relax and spend time together because the Logan City Pool has had needed repairs.
Despite COVID-19 and rain delays, the pool was sand blasted, primed and painted and by Father’s Day 2020, it was ready again for swimmers. Grant funding helped cover the project cost.
A problematic Fiberglas liner was removed at the close of the 2019 season, and the floor of the pool had to be ground smooth and walls and gutters had to be resealed. The chlorinator was also replaced.
Ongoing expenses of pool operation are funded through a $1 monthly fee on utility bills, so admittance to the pool is free. According to daily logs, an average of 40 people per day come to the pool.
