OTHER SCHOLARSHIP INITIATIVES
In addition to traditional scholarships, the Dane G. Hansen Foundation is working with other institutions to enable the residents of Northwest Kansas opportunities to receive or continue their education. Different from our regular scholarships, these opportunities are offered through partnerships with other educational institutions.
NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS TECH
Adults already living in Northwest Kansas who wish to improve their employment opportunities may be eligible for a Career Enhancement scholarship through NCK Tech at either the Beloit or Hays campus. A variety of degree programs are included in the scholarship. Special assistance may be available for students who need financial support in addition to tuition in order to attend school. Eligible students should be living in the Hansen Foundation’s 26-county service area and plan to remain in that area following completion of their degrees.

cloud county community college
Students who wish to pursue a nursing degree, and plan to work in Northwest Kansas may be eligible for scholarship support at Cloud County Community College.

COLBY COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Students who wish to pursue a degree in the medical field, and plan to work in Northwest Kansas may be eligible for scholarship support at Colby Community College. Degree options include nursing, physical therapy assistant and dental hygienist.

SALINA AREA TECHNICAL COLLEGE
Students who wish to pursue a degree in practical nursing, and plan to work in Northwest Kansas, may be eligible for scholarship support at Salina Technical College. Before being admitted, prospective students must complete several prerequisite classes, such as Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Math, and Human Development which will also be offered by Salina Tech.

KU SCHOOL OF NURSING: SALINA CAMPUS
Students attending the Salina campus of the KU School of Nursing and wish to live and practice in Northwest Kansas after graduation may be eligible for a two-year, renewable scholarship. The campus offers students a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, which is a program that accepts students who have already completed the first two years of their undergraduate education at any regionally-accredited college or university. Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the dean.

PHILLIPS COUNTY HOSPITAL SYSTEM
Students who wish to pursue a degree in nursing, either LPN, LPN to BSN, RN to BSN, BSN, BSN to DNP and/or MSN to DNP or those pursing masters or doctorate degrees to become advanced nurse practitioners (ARNP’s), may be eligible for scholarship support at any accredited college or university. Candidates must agree to seek employment at a hospital, clinic or nursing home in Phillips County.

FORT HAYS STATE UNIVERSITY TIGER COME BACK SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is for students who live in the Hansen Foundation service area, who started an associate, bachelor or masters degree at FHSU, and wish to come back to complete the degree. Available for virtual or on-campus, full-time or part-time students who have been out of school for at least two semesters, have applied and been accepted for reentry to FHSU and have an FHSU GPA of 2.5 or better.
