The Garage brings car enthusiasts to Salina

SALINA – Since The Garage opened in Salina on Feb. 15, the automotive museum has had more than 10,000 visitors, not including the nearly 2,000 members who visit regularly.

Nearly 2,000 of the museum’s visitors have been from out of state.

A grant from the Hansen Foundation covered much of the expense of interactive displays throughout the museum. More than 3,000 visitors have experienced a driving simulator for defensive driving. More than 6,000 have used fueling stations and the Turbo Trivia Town, which includes practice questions for a driver’s education test. More than 2,000 have experienced a welding simulator and paint spray simulator.

Museum staff is working to create new digital content and video for the interactive kiosks.
