SMITH CENTER – The new director of the Smith County Community Foundation learned many things from the first Match Month campaign she coordinated.

“I was truly amazed by all the donations,” said Aurielle Hughes. “I was born and raised in Smith County and absolutely love this community. I received a scholarship my senior year in high school from the foundation, and I find this job to be a way to give back to my community and to show how important it is not only to me, but my family and friends too. Seeing our success during Match Month helped me to see how important it is to all our community members too.”

The foundation was successful in bringing in enough donations to get the full amount of matching funds from the Hansen Foundation and the Patterson Family Foundation.
