LUCAS – The Big Kansas Road Trip visited Lucas in May 2024. Before the guests arrived, Hansen Foundation grant funding helped cover the cost of replacing damaged limestone on the façade of the Grassroots Art Center building.
The work was completed by the Bluestem Stoneworks & Quarry, based in Lucas.
That project, along with repairs to the Bowl Plaza and new signage, ensured that Lucas was in tip top shape when hundreds of road travelers arrived.
