ELLIS – A large mural on the side of the Municipal Building provides a new point of interest in downtown Ellis, bringing together several historic landmarks and sunflowers in its design.

Mindy Allen, of Mindy’s Murals, spent most of October painting the artwork as community members came to watch it come to life. Many stopped to chat with the artist.

The City Council had invited residents to share their ideas for the mural’s design. The mural stands as both a landmark and a symbol of community pride.

A Hansen Foundation grant was part of the funding for the project.
