COLBY — The Thomas County Community Foundation started a new “Swing into Spring” golf tournament in April as part of an effort to raise matching funds for a $50,000 challenge grant from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation.
The tournament, held in conjunction with an auction and a quilt raffle, raised about $17,400. Donors contributed nearly $32,000 more, bringing the foundation within about $800 of the entire match offered.
