After producing five musical theater performances with casts of children from five area communities this year, the Main Street Summer Theater Festival is looking toward adding a sixth community to its lineup in 2020.

About 160 youth participated as cast members in 2019 shows in Atwood, Colby, Goodland, Hoxie and Quinter. Next summer, St. Francis will also have a show.

Casts rehearse one hour for four days during the six- to seven-week production schedule, then two hours a day during show week. Although rehearsal time is kept to a minimum to accommodate busy schedules, the final performances are a memorable experience for both the cast and the audience.
