NORTON – Community volunteers came together to build a playground in Norton to serve children participating in Head Start, as well as neighborhood kids.
The United Methodist Church, where Head Start is held, had a small outdoor play area before improvements were made. Grant funding, as well as numerous donations from individuals and businesses, made installation of the new playground structure possible. A goal is to add swings in the future.
Families of children involved in Head Start donated benches, from which parents and grandparents can observe children at play.
