SALINA – More than 1,000 people attended concerts throughout the week of the fifth annual Kansas Wesleyan University International Music Festival in March 2019.
Four concert performances by artists from Russia, Canada, Italy, Japan, Great Britain and the United States were featured, in addition to six masterclasses that were open to the public. The festival promotes collaboration between international artists and regional musicians, members of the Salina Symphony and Salina Youth Symphony and Kansas Wesleyan faculty and students.
A favorite moment this year came during the presidential dinner, when New York artists Hassan Anderson and Tina Bouey accompanied by the KWU Jazz Band got the audience laughing as they scatted about local restaurants and festival experiences.
