ELLSWORTH – When shopping at a book fair, a mother picked up a book and asked her young son if he’d like to take it home. She was surprised when he responded by reciting the first line of the story from memory.
“The trouble started when Pepe the Parrot fell in love,” he said. Unbeknownst to his mother the book Carina Felina was a favorite among the children at the Ellsworth Childcare & Learning Center.
Each teacher at the center is allotted a portion of grant funds to pick new books at the book fair for their classroom.
