COLBY – The growing library at Citizens’ Clubhouse has become a valuable resource for supporting children through significant life events.

When one of the childcare facility’s preschool teachers unexpectedly died, a story helped explain loss and provide children with language to express their emotions.

Over time, the facility has expanded its collection to include books on topics such as loss, divorce, and welcoming a new sibling. When major life events occur, teachers utilize these books to gently guide children through their strong feelings in a comforting and age-appropriate manner.

Grant funding purchases new books for childcare facilities throughout the area.
