OAKLEY – Most of the Oakley students attending a school performance of the FLY Dance Co. had never seen break dancing before.
There was a lot of audience participation during the performance.
“It was so good!! The kids loved it. We all did!” said the elementary school principal following the Western Plains Arts Association program.
Grant funding covered the artist fee for the school presentation, as well as a public performance the day before. The group from the Bronx area of New York demonstrated how street dancing or break dancing was used in combination with classical choreography during the public performance.
