Festival at Wilson Lake finds growing audience

WILSON STATE LAKE – In its third year, attendance at the Lovegrass Music Festival has more than quadrupled.

Children’s activities, workshops and a band on a boat floating in the cove were among the highlights of this year’s event. The festival will continue to be the second weekend in August in 2020 at Wilson State Lake.

Grant funds were used to secure Old Salt Union, from St. Louis, Mo., as the headline act.

The festival offered free entertainment, as well as workshops such as a therapeutic drumming session, gospel jam and kayaking excursion. Kids’ activities included an interactive musical instrument petting zoo and a “build your own instrument” station.
