ADDITIONAL COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SUPPORT

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION KACF SUPPORT

The Hansen Foundation recognizes the value of networking and training. In Kansas, the Kansas Association of Community Foundations (KACF) offers small foundations opportunities to do both.

As a result, the Hansen Foundation has provided support for countywide community foundations in Northwest Kansas to participate in KACF offerings.

In 2024, The Hansen Foundation will continue providing direct support to KACF for eligible foundations. Beginning in 2025, these foundations will be required to pay  for KACF conference attendance and membership fees using the allotted $10,000 from the pass-through grants.

Membership Support

For countywide community foundations with assets of less than $10 Million, in the Hansen Foundation’s 26-county service area, assistance with membership dues is available through 2024. Beginning in 2025, foundations will be required to pay  for KACF membership fees using the allotted $10,000 from the Hansen pass-through grants.

KACF Annual Conference for Community Foundations

The Hansen Foundation will cover 2 registrations per eligible community foundation and the cost of the hotel stay for scholarship participants. Hotel costs are limited to two nights per registrant (4 total hotel nights) and will be reimbursed at no more than the conference rate.

Each eligible community foundation board can select up to two participants from each county.

Selected participants will register for the conference directly using the link on the KACF website (kansascfs.org).  When conference registration opens, a code will be sent to eligible foundations by email to use when registering. The cost will show as $0. If registering multiple participants in the same registration, please be sure to provide individual emails so each participant will receive updates and reminders. The Hansen Foundation will pay conference fees directly to KACF.

Hotel costs are typically booked through the host foundations, either Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation or Greater Salina Community Foundation. The Hansen Foundation pays the host foundation following the conference.

Beginning in 2025, foundations will be required to pay  for KACF conference costs using the allotted $10,000 from the Hansen pass-through grants.

BLOOMERANG DONOR TRACKING SOFTWARE

In order to assist our countywide community foundations with continued donor development, and to encourage more donor stewardship. in 2024 the Hansen Foundation began offering a membership to Bloomerang.

Each foundation will operate with a seperate contract that will be paid for directly to Bloomerang in 2024.

Beginning in 2025, foundations will be required to pay for renewal of the contract using the allotted $10,000 from the Hansen pass-through grants.

The Hansen Foundation negotiated contract is good through March of 2027. Renewal fees may be subject to change after that date.

MEMORYFOX

Since 2021, The Hansen Foundation has offered participation in MemoryFox — a program designed to collect content for marketing use — including video, text and photos.

The Hansen Foundation will pay for renewal in June 2024 for those foundations that commit to continue using the program.

Beginning in 2025, foundations will be required to pay for renewal of the contract using the allotted $10,000 from the Hansen pass-through grants.

BOWERCOMM MARKETING SUPPORT

Responding to request from our countywide community foundations, in 2024 the Hansen Foundation will provide marketing assistance through BowerComm.

Foundations were introduced to the program at the Hansen Forum in March 2024. A follow-up 2-day intensive is scheduled for May 1-2, 2024 in Hays.

The program includes:

  • A 12-month marketing plan

  • A brand kit using Canva (and training on Canva)
  • Mail/Email address lists by county to populate Bloomerang and assist with donor development and ongoing marketing.
