
VICTORIA – Volga German heritage was on display at the annual Herzogfest in Victoria.
Traditional German food, including dumplings, noodles, beans, bierocks and German pastries, and music, including Wes Windholz and his polka bank and the Polka Mass held in the park were popular with festival-goers.
In true German fashion, the Knights of Columbus beer booth kept the drinks flowing throughout the weekend. The Aug. 1 celebration began and ended with a traditional German toast that everyone joins in on.
