DOWNS – A performance at the junior high by storyteller Michael McCarty had students enthralled and many of them brought their families to hear McCarty perform at the Kansas Storytelling Festival.
McCarty, who specializes in stories of African and African-American history and culture, was among five storytellers featured in this year’s festival in Downs in April. Other professional storytellers were Ed Stivender, Paul Strickland, Pippa Whit and Priscilla Howe.
