RUSSELL – A new mask fit-testing machine is enhancing safety and readiness for emergencies for Russell firefighters and other community members who use respirators.
The machine confirms that masks are suitably sized to match the facial characteristics of the individual using them.
Having the machine has allowed the Russell City Fire Department to speed up onboarding. It also allows the department to provide a critical service to residents who rely on respirators to protect their airways.
A Hansen Foundation grant helped cover the cost of purchasing the machine.
