New entrance welcomes guests to Colby museum

COLBY – The metal framework and large entry windows were replaced at the Prairie Museum of Art & History, improving the energy efficiency and the look of the unique structure.

The new window frames are blue instead of black, adding a pop of color to the entrance. New window decals are very colorful as well.

The project is expected to have a significant impact on utility costs. The seals around the old glass were failing, and water and moisture were leaking in and oxiding the framework. The project, in part funded by a Hansen grant, has made the building’s entrance more inviting for visitors.
