CAWKER CITY – One side of Little Knights Learning Center in Cawker City is up and running in a new modular building assembled onsite near a previous group daycare licensed facility operated by the school district.

When it is feasible to do so, the other side can be opened, allowing another 12 children to be cared for. Word spread that USD 272 was establishing a new daycare license, and the 12 new slots were filled quickly. Families from five communities are being served. Some drive 30 minutes to bring their child for care.

The project has received Dane G. Hansen and Patterson Family Foundation funding. The program has ensured that the school’s preschool and elementary enrollment will have strong future enrollments.
