KIRWIN — The rental of sound equipment contributed to the success of the home talent play, the parade and the demo derby that were part of the annual Old Settlers Day celebration in Kirwin.
Grant funds were utilized to rent sound equipment including speakers, amplifiers and microphones. The funds were also used to rent costumes and props for the play.
Old Settlers Day, which is supported by the city and the Kirwin Lions Club, has been held annually since 1931.
