CEDAR BLUFF STATE PARK – The 2024 Cedar Bluff Outdoor Kids OK Day was a success, attracting more than 300 attendees. The pond was stocked with 150 pounds of catfish, and youth ages 1 to 15 set a new record by weighing in 182 fish.
Each young participant received a free fishing pole, with 176 poles distributed. An Eagle Med helicopter did a flyover, and children were allowed to explore the helicopter. Many children participated for the first time in fishing, archery and trap shooting.
A Hansen Foundation grant covered the cost of fishing poles, food for lunch and the catfish stocked in the pond.
