BELOIT – A structure engine purchased in August is providing improved firefighting capabilities, faster response times, enhanced mutual aid support and increased protection for communities in Mitchell and Jewell counties.
Hansen Foundation grant funds, combined with local funds, enabled purchase of the pumper truck for Mitchell County Rural Fire District No. 3. The department’s 36 volunteers handle 35 to 40 calls per year on average.
