Repairs prepare church for anniversary celebration

DENMARK – The steeple of the Denmark Evangelical Lutheran Community Church was repaired and repainted. Mortar was repointed and the stain glass windows were reglazed.

Community fundraising and a grant from the Post Rock Community Foundation raised $38,000. Donations came in from across the country. A Hansen Foundation grant brought the fundraising part of the project to a close. Post Rock Construction completed the work and plans to return for additional weatherization work on windows in the spring.

“This project isn’t just restoring our church; it is restoring our hope. As we prepare to celebrate the church’s 150th anniversary, we’re filled with gratitude, knowing that the Denmark Church will stand strong for generations to come,” wrote church member Mary Andersen.
