A van that brings dental services to schools and skilled nursing facilities in seven counties in northwest Kansas provided oral health exams to more than 400 patients who were not previously accessible.
Sealants were applied to children’s teeth, and patients received referrals for restorative care if needed. Education services directly influenced 750 second-grade students in 12 counties to practice good oral hygiene.
The Rawlins County Dental Clinic and Hoxie Medical Clinic worked cooperatively on the project.
